Nokia SIP Installation for CampusCom Phone Service

Before beginning to install CampusCom service on your Nokia "e" or "n" series SIP compatible cell phone, make sure you have the most recent firmware (phone software) installed on your telephone. You can find updates for Nokia SIP phones here. Just make sure you have your model number (e.g. N95) handy to find the software from the device list. Not only will this allow you to use CampusCom phone service on your Nokia phone, but it may make your phone work more efficiently too! Also ensure you have the Nokia SIP/VoIP application installed on your phone. If you're unable to find the settings below you can download the application here & install it on your cell phone to continue.

STEP 1

On your Nokia SIP Phone navigate to Tools / Settings / Connection / SIP settings and then create the following (under options) "New SIP Profile":

Profile Name: CampusCom

Profile: IETF

Access point: (your Wireless Lan Access Point name)

Public user name: "your device login number"@"your domain". Your "device login number" & "your domain" can be found in the email we sent you when you signed up for CampusCom. When recorded your phone will show sip:"your device login number"@"your domain".

Use Compression: No

Registration: "Always on "

Use Security: No

STEP 2

You do not need to enter Proxy Server settings, so do not enter any information and emsure these settings appear as follows:

Proxy Server Address: none

Registrar Server: none

Realm: none

User Name: none

STEP 3

Enter the following for Registrar Server settings

Registrar Server:"your domain" as above in step 1

Realm: again "your domain" as above in step 1

User Name: "Your Device Login Number" as above in step 1

Password: The same password you use to log in to your customer account

Transport Type: UDP

Port: 5060

STEP 4

Go to connection / Internet Tel. Settings

Create a new profile for CampusCom, name it "CampusCom(1)"

In Connectivity / Internet tel. / Preferred profile

Choose "CampusCom(1)"

STEP 5

Reboot your Nokia SIP phone. Once your phone restarts it will automatically register to CampusCom.

Once registered (you should see an icon of a telephone and a globe together) you can start making calls.

Default call type: To switch between normal GSM calls or VOIP calls, navigate to Tools / Settings / Call / Default call type. Select Cellular to make normal calls to the phone number or Internet to use CampusCom to make the call and save big bucks!

***If you would like to use a different wireless access point (e.g. when in a cafe or on campus) you need to change the "Access Point"in Step 1 to the name of the wireless access point you are currently in. You may need to change this setting each time you are in a different access point in order to logon to make CampusCom calls.***
