About E911 Service for Your CampusCom Home or Small Business Phone

E911 service or Enhanced 911 service works much the same way as traditional 911 services do. It is a system which associates a telephone number with a physical address and directs an emergency call to the closest Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP). The caller's address and information are therefore immediately made available to the PSAP calltaker. For this reason, CampusCom requires accurate address information in order to ensure that the PSAP knows where to go in case of an emergency. If you do move, please notify CampusCom of address changes with 48 hours notice to ensure E911 emergency service keeps you protected! To ensure compliance with the CRTC and the FCC all CampusCom lines are equipped with E911 service.

E911 Charges

The charge for E911 is $1.50 per telephone number per month (which is our cost). E911 is available in Canada and the United States only. Remember, E911 emergency service will not work if you have a power outage, if your internet service is down or if our service is temporarily down. So always ensure you have an alternate method of calling for emergency service (cell phone etc.). For more information read the E911 section in our terms of service.
